Programmers On Call™ is fully owned by Thomas & Thomas Technologies and founded by Tom Thomas. Tom has over 30 years of practical, hands-on experience in software development and business management. His focus has always been on maximizing business profits, minimizing expenses and increasing productivity using computers as a business tool.
Tom began his career developing product distribution software that resulted in reducing staff by 50% while increasing customer base from 200 to 10,000 and reducing distribution time from hours per order to minutes. He accomplished this through a combination of hardware enhancements, software development and employee training. Over the years, Tom has taken that same approach on hundreds of projects resulting in increased profits, more efficiency and reduced costs.
Tom has a business accounting background and was one of the first integrating developers with QuickBooks®. In addition, Tom and his companies have developed integration tools for many systems to exchange data between other accounting systems and their custom software.
Working closely with the United States Veterans Administration on computer training and business consulting, Tom developed custom programs for disabled veterans. This led to the creation of a large computer training center focused on corporate applications and business startups.
Later Tom brought this same approach to the franchise industry where he founded a company to develop custom franchisor and franchisee software. This organization was purchased by a major franchise conglomerate.
Tom’s enthusiasm for his work results in developing a deep knowledge for the industry he is working with at the time. Tom never takes a one-solution-for-all approach.
